Eric Legnini

Eric LEGNINI is one of the most talented pianists from Belgium.

After spending two years working in New York with American pianist Richie BEIRACH, Eric LEGNINI came back to Belgium and started playing in trio and in several groups.

Many countries have already welcomed Eric LEGNINI in various groups:

    Eric LEGNINI has played with leading musicians such as John RUOCCO, Félix SIMTAINE, AKA MOON ELECTRIC, Joe LOVANO, Michel HATZIGEORGIOU, Dré PALLEMAERTS, Emanuele CISI, Toninho HORTA, Rosario GIULIANI, Bruno CASTELLUCCI, Philip CATHERINE, Serge REGGIANI, Hein VAN DE GEYN, Marcia MARIA, Liane FOLLY, Jacques PELZER, etc.

    He now lives in Paris, where he played with Eric LE LANN, Aldo ROMANO, André CECCARELLI, BELMONDO 5tet, Flavio BOLTRO and Stefano DI BATTISTA, his own trio, etc...

    Eric LEGNINI did some concerts and a Sweden tour with world famous Toots THIELEMANS.

    In 1990, Eric LEGNINI has been appointed teacher of jazz piano at the Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music.

    That same year, the Belgian TV made a 50 mints. feature film about Eric's life in Belgium and the U.S.

    In 1994, Eric LEGNINI has composed the soundtrack of "Ombres et Lumières" directed by Samy BRUNET. He also had the opportunity to compose and perform the music for a dance performance, "Si par une nuit..." for Enzo PEZZELLA Company.

    Now Eric LEGNINI is touring Europe with Stefano di BATTISTA and Flavio BOLTRO Quintet. Eric also was the producer of the CD recorded by Flavio BOLTRO for Blue Note France.

    He has also recorded a CD with Joe LOVANO (Igloo records).
    He played and recorded the album "Towards the Light" with the Bruno CASTELLUCCI's Stringtet.

    He appears on the CD "Game Over", of the quartet of drummer Mimi VERDERAME Quartet, with Italian alto sax player Rosario GIULIANI and Bart DE NOLF (bass).

    Eric LEGNINI currently appears in trio with Rosario BONACORSO (bass) and Benjamin HENOCQ (drums).

    In the Belgian jazz referendum organized by Belgian radios RTBF and VRT, Eric LEGNINI was elected by the listeners best Belgian piano and keyboard player of the year '98.
    In the Belgian critics poll (French speaking), he was the same year the best Belgian piano player.

    In October 2005, he received the Belgian DJANGO D'OR (confirmed musician).

    In 2006, he receives in Belgium the award "Octaves de la Musique" in the jazz category.
