Sam Vloemans, trumpet, composer / Gwen Cresens, accordion, bandoneon / Dominque Vantomme, piano / Lara Rosseel, double bass

During a stay in Paris, the city's unique atmosphere inspired Sam Vloemans to create atmospheric, romantic, and melancholic music with influences from chanson, klezmer, tango, musette, classical, and jazz.

The project

A new chapter for this elegant and cinematic project featuring trumpeter-composer Sam Vloemans.

In 2008, trumpeter Sam Vloemans released a first version of Bord nu Nord, a project inspired by a stay in Paris. With accordionist Gwen Cresens as his driving force, he created a graceful combination of jazz, chanson, tango, and cinematic influences. This led to the first JazzLab tour in 2009-2010.

Today, Vloemans presents new material and a new lineup, this time with pianist Dominique Vantomme and bassist Lara Rosseel, in addition to Gwen Cresens.

The latter invited Vloemans a few years ago for the JazzLab tour with her award-winning quintet. Together, they perform lively compositions with irresistible melodies and improvisations that transport you to the romantic City of Lights.

Sam Vloemans explores musical landscapes with his collective Cargo Mas, is active in musical theater and film music, and has collaborated with the HERMES ensemble, I Solisti del Vento, Bram Weijters, and Black Flower, among others. His extensive experience and the diverse perspectives of the group members result in an atmospheric blend of jazz, chanson, tango, klezmer, and classical music. The circle is complete, a new chapter is opening.
