Frank Vaganée 'The Disciplined Desciples' // Elly Brouckmans Trio

At last, an evening with Frank Vaganée and Dré Pallemaerts.
Back in the 90s, they shook up De Hopper together. What came after only got better. Two remarkable careers of equally remarkable musicians who cross paths again tonight at Walter.

This time, they meet in the music of Kenny Wheeler. Beautiful compositions, forever tied in our ears to the sound of Wheeler’s trumpet and flugelhorn. Yet here, Vaganée and The Disciplined Decipels perform them without trumpet and without piano. Music for Large and Small Ensembles definitely belongs in your autumn playlist already.

First, Vaganée invites the cream of his former students. Elly Brouckmans, who graduated magna cum laude from the LUCA School of Arts in Frank’s class in 2023, presents trio work together with Matthias De Waele and Jim Monneau.
