Julien Delbrouck

After studying saxophone and clarinet at the Woluwe-Saint-Lambert academy in the class of Jocelin Denis, Julien Delbrouck returned to the Royal Conservatory of Mons with Michel Mergny to study classical saxophone.

However, little by little, he realized that his heart was leaning a little more towards jazz and following lessons with Fabrice Alleman and an internship at "Jazz au vert", he decided to continue his path towards jazz and then entered the conservatory Royal of Brussels in the class of Steve Houben and Fabrice Alleman.

After 5 years, in 2011, he obtained a didactic master's degree in jazz winds, specializing in saxophone.

Directly after his studies, Julien Delbrouck began teaching in various schools (Athénée royale Serge Creuz, Athénée Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, etc.) general music then jazz (winds and ensembles) in several academies (Baudour academy, Courcelles academy and Eghezée academy). He also taught for several years at the Jodoigne course under the direction of Bernard Guyot.

Besides teaching, he also plays and performs in several groups of very different styles (classical, rock, jazz, world music, etc.) in Belgium and abroad. He can be seen as a sideman in several groups:

TricTracTrio (with Pirly Zurstrassen and Wouter Roggemans), Klezmamo (with Marielle Vancamp, Monique Gelders and René Stock), The Real Sax section (with Steve Houben, Fabrice Alleman, Piérrick Pedron, Kenny Jeanney, Nathalie Loriers, Rick Hollander, Antoine Pierre and Michel Herr), Val et les Bateleurs (with Valérie Mathieu, Wouter Roggemans and David Kintzinger), Les Voleurs de Poules (with Pavel Tchikov...), Juke Records Big Band ( with Timothé le Maire, Antoine Lissoir...), Art Jazz Band (with David Prince, Geoffrey Hugé...), Herman Little Big Band (with JB Guerrier, Romain Verwilghem, Livio Luzzy...).

But also in more personal groups as leader or co-leader: Saxodéon (with Thibault Dille), West Coast Jazz Reunion (with Kenny Jeanney, Mathieu Robert...), Double Deal (with Mathieu Najean...), Kcuorbled Quartet (with Michel Vrydag...), Diaphonie (with Gonzalo Rodriguez Diaz), The Lopers (with Mathieu De Wit, Laurent Vigneron and Max Malkomes)...

Alongside his favorite instrument (the saxophone) Julien Delbrouck also plays the clarinet (bass clarinet), the flute but also the piano, drums, guitar and bass.
