From the age of nine Jasmien took classical piano lessons in the music academy of Aarschot. After some time her interests shifted to Jazz piano. As her love for Jazz grew she pursued the ambition to study music at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She acquired her masters degree in 2020 for Jazz piano under the supervision of her mentor and renowned pianist/composer Diederik Wissels. Her studies there led to founding the trio Elsiris in which she combines the unusual instrumentation of flugelhorn, piano and drums. The music presented in this project is all by her hand. For their upcoming album, Elsiris has been signed as a new artist with SONNA Records.
