Maxime Moyaerts

  • Instruments : Piano
  • Date of birth : 22/10/1988 - Dinant

Maxime began playing the piano at the age of 7. Always drawn to jazz, he first pursued classical training at the Andenne Academy, followed by studies at the IMEP. In 2010, fueled by his passion for jazz, he enrolled at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels to dedicate himself fully to this genre.

During his five years in Eric Legnini's class, he developed his own style, which reflects his love for tradition and his heroes, including Oscar Peterson, Wynton Kelly, and Art Tatum.

After graduating from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Maxime also began playing the Hammond organ. He formed the band BAM! Trio, which released their debut album "ONE" in 2021. The band has toured extensively across Belgium and France, performing at festivals and jazz clubs such as Mithra Jazz in Liège, Gouvy Jazz, Cosmo Jazz, Marni, and Dinant Jazz. BAM! Trio will release their new album, "Keep it Simple," in November.

Thanks to his versatility and deep knowledge of jazz traditions, Maxime is a sought-after sideman on both the piano and Hammond organ. He currently plays with several bands, including the Albert Vila Organ Trio, Ajda, Pepa Niebla Quintet, Alligator Boogaloo, and Supafly Quintet. He has collaborated with renowned musicians such as Philip Catherine, Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, Fabrice Alleman, Bruno Castellucci, Bart Defoort, and Guy Cabay.
