Gaume Jazz Festival : Nige Gray

Multi-instrumentalist (guitar, mandolin, violin, fiddle, bass, etc.)

A multi-style moment spanning the world and the history of music...

Born in London in 1965 into a family of musicians (two parents and four children, all professionals – one father, a violinist at Neville Marriner's prestigious Academy of Saint Martins in the Fields), Nige Fray studied classical, jazz, and flamenco guitar, and Latin bass. He earned a first prize in violin, then took up jazz piano, synth pop, and singing!

This multi-instrumentalist plays guitar, mandolin, violin and fiddle, bass, drums, percussion, and piano. He sings and performs improvised concerts featuring a wide variety of live music: jazz, blues, American, Irish, and Canadian folk, Brazilian bossa and samba, Cuban salsa, gypsy and swing, Hungarian and Balkan gypsy, and more. He also plays electro, trip hop, pop rock, rock 'n' roll, mixed rock, soul, funk, blues, rap, reggae, and more.

With Nige Gray, it's a journey through the history of 20th-century music!

See him at the Gaume Jazz Festival 2025!
