Vagos Quintet is the new group of guitarist and composer Casimir Ostyn. Formed in the fall of 2023, the group builds on Casimir's previous collaborations with saxophonist Dieter Vaganée.
The music, anchored in tradition, can be categorized under melodic, modern, jazz. The repertoire includes a harmonious mix of atmospheric, quiet songs and more energetic and adventurous pieces.
Vagos Quintet played at Leuven Jazz and the Listening Square at the Ghent Festivities, among others, and recorded a demo in the spring of 2024. In the fall of 2025 the recording of their first full album is planned, whose repertoire they will perform at Jazzathome.
