The River Jazz Festival offers carte blanche to trumpeter Jean-Paul Estiévenart, a rare opportunity to discover new performances, imbued with his universe and his musical collaborations. Alongside saxophonist Ben van Gelder, double bassist Tijs Klaassen and drummer Jamie Peet, Jean-Paul Estiévenart wanted to bring together the cream of current Dutch jazz for a concert rooted in the tradition of American jazz but also with a clear influence of European music. For several years, Jean-Paul Estiévenart has forged deep ties with Dutch musicians, recognized for their dedication, their open-mindedness and their approach to jazz influenced by the New York scene. This concert will highlight the qualities of each of the musicians during this unique collaboration, where each note will resonate with a spirit of freedom. The evening will continue at 7:30 p.m. at the Senghor (duet with João Barradas) and at the Marni Theater at 9:00 p.m. (swing party).
