After starting his career by rubbing shoulders with the great jazz standards, Laurent Sprimont, this excellent saxophonist and teacher, now performs his own compositions with his band.
In a hard-bop jazz style from the 60s that is similar to modern jazz, without being too contemporary or free jazz. And if swing is very present, we also find Latin, blues and even oriental influences.
I am not into abstract jazz, Laurent Sprimont readily proclaims. I try to keep a groove, danceable and accessible side. It is not mind-blowing jazz, it can please everyone.
