This new jazz quartet project focuses on the singular repertoire of early 20th-century composer Lili Boulanger.
It's a universe at the crossroads of Ravel and Debussy, but with a unique melancholy and personality.
The artistic point of view is to make something new out of the old, to see how her music still resonates today.
The emphasis is on arrangement work, and the music oscillates between highly written parts, but leaves plenty of room for improvisation and interactivity.
