BORIS SCHMIDT BAND / Jazz Tour – Les Lundis d’Hortense

In this first personal project, bassist Boris Schmidt surrounds himself with musicians he appreciates and knows well. Their understanding and interpretation of "time", the pulse that binds them, is the first condition for the music to flow freely and groove. Each member of the quartet trusts the other three, creating a relaxed space conducive to creative risk-taking.

To enter the world of Boris Schmidt is first to enter a velvet setting where each note is light, subtle, round and whole. Behind a nonchalance that is only apparent, a very great rigor and skillfully measured precision are quickly revealed which give the whole a feeling of harmony and quiet strength. His melodic jazz is imbued with blues, swing, baroque music, pop and folk.
