Boris Schmidt Band

The Boris Schmidt Band plays original compositions which are equally influenced by modern jazz, classical music and the great american songbook tradition.

The album ‘Here’, released in 2025, marks Boris Schmidt’s latest venture as a composer and conductor. It represents a natural evolution from his 2018 album ‘Now’, featuring new tracks and an expanded line-up.

His music is influenced by his collaborations in classical and modern jazz (Ernie Hammes, Jacques Pirotton, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Manu Katché...), baroque (the Grammy-nominated ensemble l’Arpeggiata, Philippe Jarousky) and Latin rhythms (Miguel Siso, winner of a Latin Grammy).

The listener is guided by the melody, the laid-back energy and the skillful balance between surprise and familiarity.
