Interview: Mathieu Najean on “Jazz and Curious”

Jazz and Curious meets the artists who bring the Jazz Tour to life.

Mathieu Najean is a jazz saxophonist and composer whose music blends tradition and modernity. Trained at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, he has developed a personal style influenced by swing, hard bop and contemporary composition. After Panorama (2020) and Outta the Blue with You (2023) in collaboration with New York singer Cait Jones, he released an album of standards with his quartet in 2024. On this tour, he presents West Side, a vibrant and contemporary new opus with urban and modern influences, accompanied by a quartet of Brussels musicians.
