Laurent Doumont Quartet - Meanwhile

Following the tradition of the jazz quartet with guitar and tenor sax, this one takes its inspiration from the likes of John Scofield, Chris Cheek and Sonny Rollins... in all modesty.
The music aims to be both intelligent and accessible, varying between energetic tracks and ballads, always with a hint of blues.

In the spring of 2020, the world was slowed down and we were kindly asked to stay home. All venues were closed and live music had to find its way through our computers. Meanwhile, Laurent used the time to go back to the basics : practise more and write music. Soon the new compositions formed a repertoire that would suit perfectly the soulful sax-guitar-bass- drums quartet, an all time Laurent’s favorite. As soon as things were back on track, he called his go-to-guys for a try out and, guess what ? Perfect match ! « Meanwhile » is Laurent Doumont’s new Soul-Jazz quartet. Sit back, relax and enjoy !
