Saint Jazz Festival - DAY 1 @ Centre Culturel Jacques Franck

Saint Jazz Festival - DAY 1 @ Centre Culturel Jacques Franck

📅 For four decades, Saint Jazz has cultivated an open and daring lineup, where jazz engages freely with other musical styles. For this anniversary evening, the festival presents three concerts with very distinct styles: the Latin pop and folktronica of Paloma del Rey, the contemporary jazz of Dehaani, and the Cuban Latin jazz of Circuito Abierto.

An evening dedicated to discovery, diversity, and the joy of sharing music—true to the spirit of Saint Jazz.

Blending intimate Latin pop with danceable folktronica, Paloma del Rey takes us on a journey from South America to Brussels, weaving together Andean roots and electronic sounds.

A Belgian-Chilean singer, she builds her music around the charango—a small, ten-stringed Andean guitar—which she blends with organic instruments and electronic textures. Her debut EP, *Dame tu mano*, released on March 6, 2026, explores sensitivity, cultural fusion, and the search for roots.

On stage, accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Kaluze, Paloma del Rey showcases a voice that is at times soft and moving, at other times powerful and radiant. A sensitive, colorful, and danceable world where emotions are transformed into music.

A new Brussels-based trio formed by three longtime friends, Dehaani explores the shifting realms of jazz, trip-hop, and electronic music.

Centered around Thomas Vandendorpe on drums, Brice Clauss on saxophone and effects, and Raphael Laguerre on keyboards, the group creates organic, immersive, and intensely groovy music.

Inspired in particular by J Dilla, Yussef Dayes, and The Comet Is Coming, Dehaani focuses on long improvised pieces, rich sonic textures, and a stage presence that leaves no one indifferent.

A journey into contemporary jazz, blending groove, improvisation, and intoxicating atmospheres.

Cuban trumpeter Rubén Hernández and singer-songwriter Pucho Díaz present Circuito Abierto, a project that creates a dialogue between the roots of Cuban music and contemporary sounds.

Blending cha-cha-cha, songo, funk, and jazz, their music combines Pucho Díaz’s vocals and songwriting with Rubén Hernández’s arrangements, creating a warm, rhythmic world that is open to the world.

A contemporary Cuban expression where tradition, improvisation, and energy come together to create a unique musical identity.
