GAUME JAZZ FESTIVAL 2026 : Under the Reefs Orchestra

[SUNDAY, AUGUST 9, 2026]

Between immutable truth and the vertigo of the unknown, the perfect soundtrack for the ecological apocalypse

Clément Nourry, guitar / Marti Melia, saxophone / Jakob Warmenbol, drums

All eyes are on Under the Reefs Orchestra, a Brussels-based power trio at the crossroads of experimental jazz and post-rock.

Back on stage with new and constantly evolving compositions, the trio pushes its universe even further into cinematic territory. Through Clément Nourry's radical compositions, Martí Melià's bass sax, and Jakob Warmenbol's infectious drumming, the group unfolds expansive themes somewhere between Ennio Morricone and Angelo Badalamenti, carried by rhythmic trances reminiscent of Sons of Kemet or Tortoise.

Their music unfolds like a fevered dream, perpetually in motion, unpredictable like a Belgian sky. Dense and raw, then suddenly luminous, each piece opens new directions, in the exploratory spirit of Jim O’Rourke or Jeff Parker, with a freedom reminiscent of Moondog or Ben LaMar Gay.

No fixed form. No definitive version. Just music that unfolds, here and now.
