Immanuel Kaljouw Quartet

Immanuel Kaljouw Quartet

After Immanuel's grandfather gave him his trumpet, he began playing jazz trumpet at the academy in Mechelen at the age of 12. When his teacher showed him recordings of Chet Baker, he was deeply moved by Chet's beauty and sound.

In 2018, he met the talented drummer from Amsterdam, Tim Hennekes. Thanks to Tim, Immanuel decided to go to the conservatory, and what was first a hobby became his lifestyle. In 2019, Immanuel started at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, where he studied with the wonderful Jean-Paul Estiévenart.

In 2023, he met the amazing pianist Martin Salemi and admired his way of playing and his incredible sense of swing. When Immanuel transferred to the KCB, he met the solid Chinese double bassist Lantian Xiao.

All members of the quartet share their passion for jazz and swing and focus on touching listeners with their music.
