German-American pianist and composer Uli Geissendoerfer has lived in the United States since 1987.

In 2009, he left his spiritual city of New York to teach at the Jazz Faculty of the University of Las Vegas (UNLV), where he directs the Latin Jazz Ensemble. In 2012, he founded the Jazz Club "Dispensary Lounge" and played an active role in the revival of the Vegas jazz scene, featuring such luminaries as Wynton Marsalis, Brandon Fields, Sam Most, Rick Margitza, Dick Griffin, Scott Henderson, Danny Gottlieb, George Garzone and many others. The same year, he records his first production with his quintet "Colors", made up of singer Pascale Elia (whom he met during a jam session in Downtown Vegas), Charles McNeal (sax), Derek Jones (bass) and Ryan Rose (drums). The album was very well received by the West Coast press and beyond. Their European roots and musical affinities have made them close friends on the club scene, on tour and on jazz cruises. Pascale Elia returned to Belgium in 2018, but they meet up regularly (in Vegas or Munich) to give free rein to their creativity and continue performing together. Accompanied by Werner Lauscher on double bass, they present an eclectic repertoire, with arrangements and original compositions by the pianist, for which the vocalist from Liège has put pen to paper, in French,
