The festival is being opened by a pillar of the Belgian jazz scene and one of the country’s best bassists. Self-taught and a natural performer, he has played with the likes of Vaya Con Dios, Toots Thielemans, Philip Catherine and Americans Steve Grossman and Lee Konitz. A high-quality ensemble and brand new compositions make up his new quintet, with the addition of young guitarist Eliott Knuets being the icing on the cake.
SLR 5 New Band Ex’s compositions are packed with passion and energy, have a groovy sound and are resolutely optimistic ! Don’t be surprised if you want to get up and dance, laugh and celebrate life !
