Pierre Vaiana « Luna D’Argentu »

Pierre Vaiana « Luna D’Argentu »

Following his quintet album “Amuri & Spiranza”, Pierre Vaiana invites you to journey further on with a soprano sax, cello and guitar trio, which features voice on certain pieces. These new compositions open novel sound spaces, at the crossroad between chamber, jazz, improvisation and traditional music. Voice, in it, takes on an important role, between song and storytelling. Here a love song, there a monologue set to a slow, hypnotic rock soundscape, question why a water spring in Sicily gets sold to Nestlé. At times, it’s an invitation to meditate or stay introspected. Other times, it’s a scream that doesn’t let you forget that war is, and remains, violence and suffering. Sicily is a constant evocation, a metaphor, in the style of Sicilian poet Leonardo Sciascia. You’ll come out at peace, a smile lingering on your lips.
