Muziekmozaïek invites musicians, organizers, and enthusiasts to explore, play, and learn about every corner of jazz and folk. Got a question? We’ve got the answers!

Our experienced and almost hyperactive team has one mission: to inform, inspire, and guide as many people as possible on a journey through the adventures of folk and jazz. We communicate through our two printed magazines, Folk and Jazz&mo’, via this website, and just as effectively through social media, newsletters, and events. But more than that, we create stages and opportunities for performances ourselves. B-Jazz International Contest, Gooikoorts, Luisterplein (h)erkent Talent, VONKfestival, Jazzenede, Driekoningenbal… Some of these events we organize, while others we support as partners. In doing so, we give young and not-so-young talent every chance to shine and bring along diverse audiences.

Another part of this journey is artistic development. Muziekmozaïek organizes workshops that all start from the idea that you learn from each other by playing together, moving away from sheet music. Think of the Stage for Traditional Folk Music, Ethno Flanders, What the Folk?!, and formerly the Jazz Academy. Young musicians can also grow through the Ghent Youth Jazz Orchestra big band project.
