Ana Rocha is a German-Portuguese singer, lyricist and composer, raised between Brussels, Lisbon and Berlin. With degrees in Jazz Singing and Comparative Literature, she has toured throughout Europe and Brazil and is active in the jazz, world-music and folk scenes in Berlin and Brussels.

Known for her poetic, intricate lyrics in Portuguese and English and her clear, and precise voice that can easily navigate different genres, she has a long-standing collaboration with award-winning pianist and composer Diederik Wissels and is signed to Belgian label Igloo Records.

Her first album written with Diederik Wissels, “Secrecy”, (2020, Igloo Records) featured Norwegian percussionist Helge Andreas Norbakken and the Greek trumpet-player Andreas Polyzogopoulos. The duo released their second contemporary vocal jazz album, “Yearn”, in 2023, supported by the trumpet of Andreas Polyzogopoulos and joined by Nicolas Kummert on saxophone, as well as the digital EP, “Sleepless”, in trio, with voice, piano and Kummert on saxophone and live electronic modulation, in 2024.

A new trio album will be released in October 2025, followed by a tour with "Lundis D'Hortense" all over Belgium.

Moving effortlessly between different styles and genres in her writing, as well as in her music, Ana also has a folk-jazz-pop trio with composer and accordionist Thibault Dille and guitarist Pierre Gillet, ANA & the Duorkestra. The singer was awarded a GEMA stipend, which made it possible to release the album “Three’s a Crowd” in October 2022, which was greeted with two sold-out shows in Brussels and concerts in Germany and Belgium and was picked up by Booster Music in France. The trio was awarded a “Culture Moves Europe” grant by the Goethe Institut in February ’25 to explore Norway’s folk music, and are currently writing their second album.

Infused with folk, soul and rock influences, Ana Rocha’s compositions for ANA are centred around her often autobiographical lyrics. The music is written in collaboration with guitarist Thomas Maillet. Her successfully crowdfunded album “Until the Dawn” was released in 2021, featuring Toine Cnockaert on drums, Boris Schmidt on bass and double bass and Thibault Dille on keys. She has toured through Belgium and Germany and is currently working on new songs under the guidance of internationally acclaimed musician and bass-player Nicolas Fiszman.

Her album “ELAS - Vozes Femininas do 25 de Abril” (2024) with Rui Salgado, Victor da Costa and Toon Van Dionant, is an homage to the feminine voices of the Portuguese revolution, celebrating the 50 years of democracy in Portugal.

She has joined double-bassist Boris Schmidt’s Band for the recording and release-tour of the album "Here" (2025), which features a few of her lyrics and where she sings alongside Lorenzo Di Maio, Bruno Van der Hagen, Martin Salemi and Lionel Beuvens.

She also has a duo with Berlin-based Moroccan guitarist Naoufal Montassere, with whom she explores the sonorities of Brazilian and Portuguese music, as well as Flamenco and Jazz, singing originals and standards in Portuguese and English.

Ana Rocha has collaborated and played with many renowned musicians, among them internationally distinguished double-bassist Carlos Bica, Latin-Grammy award winning Brazilian guitarist Swami Jr., French singer-songwriter and “Saravah”-label founder Pierre Barouh, Indian percussionist Varun Venkit, composer Volodymyr Antoniv, Portuguese guitarist Filipe Duarte, to name only a few.
