Vanessa Matthys quartet

The Vanessa Matthys Quartet is an acoustic ensemble centred around the charismatic Belgian jazz singer Vanessa Matthys. Alongside Dominique Vantomme (piano), Werner Lauscher (double bass) and Geert Roelofs (drums), she has brought together an international quartet (BE/DE/P-B) in which the voice takes centre stage in a way that is unique in Belgium.

A space for storytelling and spellbinding melodies, but also for virtuosic passages and improvisation. A form of vocal jazz where lyricism and improvisation go hand in hand, deeply rooted in tradition whilst reaching out towards the worlds of E.S.T., Gretchen Parlato and Kurt Elling.

In May 2026, their new album *The Secret Vault* will be released, showcasing their skilful blend of contemporary jazz, traditional tunes and timeless pop classics reimagined in a unique jazz setting. A concert where pure storytelling is the common thread. Intimate and refined, yet powerful and spirited.
