Fnussjen

FNUSSJEN is the brainchild of drummer and percussionist Nicolas Chkifi. In this group, he has brought together some extraordinary musicians in an unusual formation: harpist Ann Eysermans, violinist Ananta Roosens, pianist Christian Mendoza and himself on drums. Their music, meditative in character, sometimes folkloric and contemporary, is a series of miniature compositions written by Nicolas Chkifi and linked together by adventurous improvisations.

The tempo is reduced, allowing listeners to immerse themselves completely in a delicate blend of spiritual chamber music, healing music and jazz.

Thanks to its surprising experimentation and original orchestration, FNUSSJEN produces a unique and intriguing sound which, with its inherent tranquillity, seems to want to break away from the dystopian aspects of our world.

It offers a peaceful aesthetic, sometimes reminiscent of Arve Henriksen, Thomas Stronen and other ECM Records artists.
