Zwornturf is a power trio made up of three of Belgium's most esteemed musicians.
Driven by a shared desire to push the boundaries of jazz, they bring together decades of collective experience and innovation.
Drawing on their diverse backgrounds and influences, Zwornturf's music is a fusion of manic bebop, offbeat hard-bop or even heavy metal swing full of finesse. Their adventurous performances testify to the power of collaboration, and make a lasting impression.
Frank Deruyter's ingenious compositions provide the perfect playground for the trio's members to excel, collectively as well as individually. The mighty tenor sax that croons softly and then hits hard again, the piano and synths in overdrive, sprinkling clean funk lines à la Herbie Hancock, and then the subtle percussion that drives the music...
