Louise Van Den Heuvel - Echoes of Rain

Fascinated by the concept of ‘rain’ and the possibilities to transfer its different sounds and stages into music, Louise van den Heuvel invites a group of amazingly talented musicians for a brand new repertoire : ‘Echoes of Rain’.

Earlier in her already varied and still rising musical career, the young Dutch bassist/composer did solo creations for Walter and HA Concert that were inspired by the weather phenomenon, focusing on bass guitar loops and ambient sounds. The root for this new carte blanche by Théâtre Marni sprouted in Durbuy, when Louise and her boyfriend Victor Khaddaj were stuck inside when it was literally pouring outside.

It inspired the duo deeply : Victor will also be co-composer of the repertoire as well as part of this one-off band full of amazingly talented musicians from Belgium and France, who are both established sound-makers as well as impressive soloists. Together they will tell a great improvised story, filled with bits of contemporary classical music, ambient, jazz, pop and a few rock traces.
