The Ghent Youth Jazz Orchestra is coming out with a smashing concert at De Centrale in Ghent! The grandiose big band gives young musicians over three years the chance to grow, play together, exchange ideas and, of course, have fun. At the end of last year, the big band started rehearsals and try-outs, in the Easter holidays they will launch a new project week led by guest conductor and Belgian jazz legend Richard Rousselet. On Thursday 13 April, GYJO will present you with a unique jazz set after a week of hard work and refinement, the premiere!
The evening will be opened in style by guitarist Artan Buleshkaj together with saxophonist Warre Van de Putte, Kobe Boon on double bass and Mathias Vercammen on drums. They got to know each other in the very first Ghent Youth Jazz Orchestra in 2012. After more than 10 years, they share the stage with the new generation of the GYJO as the Artan Buleshkaj Quartet. Come and enjoy this double bill!
