A Tribute to Jean-Pierre Catoul

A little over 20 years ago, the Belgian jazz world lost an exceptional musician: violinist Jean-Pierre Catoul. A flamboyant musician, Jean-Pierre Catoul traced his path through jazz, French chanson, world music and rock. In the course of his short career, he has worked with pianists Charles Loos and Pirly Zurstrassen and guitarist Peter Hertmans. As an artist without borders, he led the Led Zeppelin string quartet and accompanied French chanson artists such as William Sheller, Barbara and Alain Souchon. Two decades later, his former travelling companion, the pianist Charles Loos, pays tribute to him with a solid string trio (violin - viola - cello) accompanied by an accordionist. On the menu of this new formula: compositions by Jean-Pierre Catoul but also some compositions dedicated to him.
