Violins Jazz Band

With the jazz violin class of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, we have created a new formula, rarely explored in the world of jazz: a string ensemble drawing its repertoire from different eras of jazz history, and spiced with some original compositions. A guitarist and a double bassist joined us, as well as some students from the classical section, and former students from the Jazz Violin class. The arrangements are mainly written by Nils Theunissen, student of the jazz violin class, by the teacher and sometimes by other students of the jazz section.
A string ensemble offers a perfect balance in terms of timbres, tessitures and sound volume, which allows us to make the chords of jazz sound beautifully. In addition, each of us finds his place as an improviser. And of course, the groove is there
