Davide Petrocca

Davide Petrocca started to play classical guitar by the age of 10, before switching to acoustic bass when he was 17. After a few years of studying with private teachers, David dedicated himself mainly to jazz and improvised music.

He had his first professional engagements by the age of 20 with his brothers Lorenzo and Antonio. Later this age he also played with the Swiss drummer Charly Antolini and his band for two years.

In may 2000 he got hired by Monty Alexander and played with him till 2003, touring all over Europe, Scandinavia , Russia , New Zealand and the USA , appearing on major festivals and world famous clubs.

Meanwhile David appears on over 40 recording productions in different styles and directions between tradional, open and modern music.

He is a member of the quartet of the trumpet player Peer Baierlein.
