Bart De Nolf

Since 1994, he teaches at the “Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel”, and he became head of the jazz department of the KCB in 2020.
For about 10 years he was a regular faculty member at the Taipei International Summer Jazz Academy (Taipei Taiwan).
As a member of the “BRT Jazz Orkest”, he accompanies a number of soloists, like Horace PARLAN, Jerome RICHARDSON, Kenny WHEELER, Palle MIKKELBORG, Von FREEMAN, Mal WALDRON,…
Some important bands he played with : the SADI Quartet, Jacques PELZER’s “Open Sky Unit”, Jean-Marie MACHADO’s sextet Andaloucia, and outside the jazz scene with artists like Isabelle Antena, VAYA CON DIOS, Roland Van Campenhout, Khadja Nin, Adamo, etc…
Freelancer, he performs with : Barney WILEN, Michel LEGRAND, Lew TABACKIN, Lee KONITZ, Gary SMULYAN, Dick Oats, Mal WALDRON, Bud SHANK, Dave PIKE…
Since 1997 he becomes regular band member of the Toots THIELEMANS Quartet, and performed with Toots in Belgium, Europe, South America and Asia.
In 2010, he formed his own trio for a onetime project for JazzLab Series with ANDY SHEPPARD, and drummer DRE PALLEMAERTS.
Together with Philip CATHERINE and Nicola ANDRIOLI, they form the “Philip Catherine Piano Trio”.
Together with the renowned drummer Peter ERSKINE, he forms the rhythm section for the Frank DERUYTER Quartet.
He has been the resident bassist with the BRUSSELS JAZZ ORCHESTRA since 2018.
