Xavier Thiébaut is a Belgian double bassist/bassist whose musical journey is as rich as it is diverse. He took his first steps in classical guitar at the Tournai Conservatory, before succumbing to the allure of the bass guitar's deep frequencies. With this instrument, he explored various musical horizons, notably alongside the legendary Liliane Saint-Pierre and within the band Exode.
An immersion in the rockabilly world naturally led him to the double bass, an instrument whose vast possibilities he has since passionately explored. His encounter with Elya Darmor marked a decisive turning point, fully drawing him into the world of jazz. Together, they founded the GoElya Quartet, where Xavier highlights his sensitivity and depth of playing. In parallel, he is a cornerstone of The B-Wappy Machine, an ensemble that skillfully blends rockabilly sounds with the irresistible energy of swing, offering a unique big band approach to jazz.
Xavier Thiébaut is a versatile musician who enriches every ensemble with his warm presence and undeniable groove.
