Christian Klinkenberg (b. 1976) is an acclaimed composer of new music, author, and multimedia artist. He started composing at a young age, studying both jazz and classical composition at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. He holds a PhD in the Arts from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Klinkenberg's music blends orchestral and contemporary classical techniques with a writing style deeply rooted in jazz and improvisation. His artistic interests also extend to new music and multimedia art, a passion he explores through his theatrical collaborations and artistic projects. His compositions have been performed by ensembles across Europe and the United States, with his opera receiving two successful productions in New York.
Beyond his work as a composer, Klinkenberg remains an active pianist, bandleader, and improviser. In 2001, he founded the Christian Klinkenberg Orchestra, an ensemble with which he has released several CDs. He is also a founding member of the East-Belgian ensemble “KL-EX”, where he serves as a leader and creative collaborator.
He now primarily focuses on writing books and developing apps in the fields of music theory and composition.
