Call for applications: Jeunesses Musicales Tours 2027–2028

Call for applications: Jeunesses Musicales Tours 2027–2028

Are you a professional musician or artist living in Belgium? Do you have a musical project that can resonate with or speak to young people?

Selection criteria

  • Artistic and performance quality (primary criterion).
  • Educational value and potential for fostering civic reflection: beyond the musical emotion, the project can stimulate cultural, educational, philosophical or societal dimensions…
  • Ability to adapt to a young audience based on the three pillars of PECA: encounter, understanding and practice, combined with a cultural mediation approach (transmission, participation and interaction, etc.).
  • Potential for openness and discovery: sparking a vocation, fostering a desire to practise music, to reflect and to think critically…
  • Interpersonal skills: fostering a connection with young audiences is essential.
  • Originality of the concept: a coherent setting and spatial arrangement, with a clear overarching theme.
  • Artistic maturity: the project must be sufficiently polished, and the artist or group must be prepared to adapt to the school setting.

If selected, the JM undertake to

  • Include your project in their annual concert brochure (which is widely distributed).
  • Where possible, organise a mini showcase during their season launch event.
  • Produce a short video feature on your project (interview + video clip).
  • Create a comprehensive artist profile on their website (text, photo, educational pack, audio/video links).
  • Work with you to develop an educational pack.
  • Promote the project on social media and in the press.
  • Consider, if necessary, providing professional support (coaching, staging, mentoring, etc.)
