A sonic immersion on SOS MEDITERRANEE's mothership by Bo van der Werf
This autumn, saxophonist and composer Bo van der Werf will soon board the Ocean Viking to record a wide range of sounds: communications during rescues, the eco-acoustics of the sea and scenes of life on board.
His project: to create a sound installation freely inspired by his stay on board the mothership of the SOS MEDITERRANEE association.
This “exhibition-installation” will recreate a multidimensional soundscape of life aboard the Ocean Viking.
As Bo van de Werf describes it: 'It will be a distillation of humanity in communion, a deep soundscape, blending concrete sources with a musical composition, like a discreet and dreamlike counterpoint.'
The aim is dual: to allow the public to immerse themselves in life on board, and to pay tribute to the extraordinary work of SOS MEDITERRANEE on land and at sea.
