Since 2017, the AB has been one of the 7 major Flemish arts institutions, alongside deSingel, Opera Vlaanderen and Kunstencentrum Vooruit, among others.

The arts institutions are large-scale initiatives with considerable national and international appeal. They are charged with an important symbolic value in cultural policy and have a structural link with the Flemish Community.

Over all these years, the profile of AB has remained more or less the same. AB offers music of today by people of today, in the world in which they live. With concerts in the Great Hall and the Club, but also with AB TV, AB Sessions, chamber music concerts, listening sessions and lectures in the AB Salon. And every summer, the Feeërieën and Boterhammen in het Park festivals (which celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2019) offer magical open-air concerts in the enchanting setting of Brussels Park.
