Natasha Vew Quintet is a five-piece band led by pianist Natasha Van Eerdewegh a.k.a. Natasha Vew. Her debut album La Piccola Scimmia is the narration of Natasha’s journey through life and its turn around.
Natasha and her band members multiple influences within the jazz idiom make this first album a colourful mix between a tribute to the American giants and their European roots.
Labeled as “neo-hardbop” or sometimes “lyrical modern jazz”, her music is open and the interaction between musicians is put at the forefront. Her main creative influences are Sean Jones, Wayne Shorter, Richie Beirach, Avishaï Cohen and McCoy Tyner.
