The Blue Mockingbirds are six jazz musicians from Brussels who have an unconditional love of 1920s jazz and Duke Ellington’s music. On a trip to New Orleans in 2019, they met the English singer Leonie Evans and decided to stick around and make this alchemy come alive in a project intended to be listened and danced to.
Their music goes from ragtime to blues by great singers from the early 20th century such as Ma Rainey and Georgia White. They perform jewels from the repertoire : The Mooche (D. Ellington), Deep Night (C. Henderson) and In My Solitude (D. Ellington). The Blue Mockingbirds are insatiable and just want to shake their wings !
