"At the crossroads of two worlds
This Thursday 3 November at 8 pm at the Baixu in Brussels, the pianist-composer Ivan Paduart and the composer-guitarist Quentin Dujardin will present a selection of their compositions from their two albums "VIVRE" and "CATHARSIS". On the programme, a set of original compositions in a style at the crossroads between jazz and world music!
Formerly Claude Nougaro's pianist (1993-1994) and Toots Thielemans' pianist (1996-1997), Ivan Paduart is one of the most appreciated musicians of the current Belgian scene. Influenced by Bill Evans and Herbie Hancock, he is regularly invited by the biggest names in jazz such as Steve Houben, Richard Galliano, Richard Bona, Manu Katché ...
As for Quentin Dujardin, he has travelled through Spain, Morocco, Paraguay, Madagascar... in order to confront himself with other musical traditions. Each stop nourished his inspiration and multiple encounters made him discover new sounds.
