This debut album stems out of a spontaneous recording session at Zinnema Studio in Brussels, where the band set out to explore compositions by all three members. Their distinct musical personalities turned out to work very well together and the result is the sound which you can now hear on the record. Unusual in their instrumentation, Sumooi creates an intriguing blend of sonorities and invites the listener to contemplate.
The album is out on Off Records.
The artwork has been crafted by Alicia Steigerwald using the batik technique, where in a process of several rounds of soaking and drying, layers of colour are applied to fabric.
