Jazz au Broukay 2026 – 21, 22, 23 August 2026: Friends in Peace

Relentlessly, the Jazz au Broukay festival carries a message of peace and friendship, creativity and connection, sharing and kindness, respect and care for nature.

But above all… a deep belief in the ability of a collective effort to bring beauty and goodness to life.

For three days, along the banks of the Geer River, at the foot of the Eben-Ezer Tower, the festival offers a unique opportunity to discover a magical, intimate venue.

Friday 21 August

As we know, Miles Davis would have turned one hundred this year. Friday evening will take us on a journey through more than five decades of jazz, viewed through the lens of one of its greatest creators, with an archival documentary produced by the Maison du Jazz and the collective We Want Miles, led by Michel Mainil.

We will also welcome double bass player Jo Didderen and his Equipe de Rêve.…

Saturday 22 August

Jazz au Broukay – afternoon mini-programme:

– Vocal and body warm-up for all participants (L’Okapi methodology: voice, breathing, presence)

– Group improvisation: singing without sheet music, listening as the foundation

– Learning three pieces: one from your own repertoire and one new shared piece

– Cross-choir improvisation moment: Les Perles Noires and Okapi Maastricht meet through sound

– Final presentation during the terrace concert at 6:00 pm, live in front of the audience

The Saturday evening, as has always been the tradition, will be dedicated to Gypsy Swing, featuring the Belgian trio Cavalière–Dardenne–Dille and the Dutch group Wattie Rosenberg & Sonnekai.

Sunday 23 August

An afternoon with the Viper’s Rhythm Trio. A joyfull moment to dance, sing and have fun with the music of the 1920s and 1930s from New Orleans, Chicago and New York.
