Mec Yek is a unique Roma-inspired band born from the encounter between Piet Maris and Roma musicians in Slovakia. Building on traditional Roma songs and singing in Romanes, the group blends gypsy music with influences ranging from ska and tarantella to blues, creating a vibrant and contemporary sound. Together with Roma singers Katia and Milka Pohlodkova, Mec Yek reimagines tradition with energy, creativity, and an unmistakable musical identity.
