SOS MEDITERRANEE is a European sea rescue association created in 2015 on the initiative of European citizens outraged by the repeated shipwrecks in the Mediterranean.

Since 2014, more than 29,000 people have lost their lives attempting the crossing, making it the deadliest maritime migration route in the world.

SOS MEDITERRANEE has rescued nearly 40,000 people aboard its ambulance ship, including 15% women and 25% minors.
