A night of celestial music. 'In Heaven' welcomes you into an oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A musical evening in which time seems to stand still. An experience you won’t easily forget.
Vega Trails (UK)
A happy reunion with the adventurous chamber jazz duo Vega Trails, the project of double bassist Milo Fitzpatrick (founder of the Portico Quartet) and saxophonist Jordan Smart (Mammal Hands, Sunda Arc). In 2022, the duo made the album Tremors In The Static, which made the most of minimalist jazz: each song sounds like a meditative conversation between two instruments.
For their new album Sierra Tracks, they drew inspiration from the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama mountains northwest of Madrid. For this very special concert, they will be accompanied by pianist Taz Modi. There is something cinematic about Sierra Tracks, as each piece unfolds according to its own compelling storyline, often beautifully evoking the vast space of the mountains. Throughout the album, there are motifs and melodies that are repeated in different passages, which can be seen as cyclical thoughts and memories.
Marysia Osu (PL)
Polish harpist Marysia Osu goes off the beaten track by detaching her instrument from its classical context and giving it a place in an experimental, electronic and avant-garde universe. With loops, special effects and improvisation, she creates immersive soundscapes that hover between dream and reality.
Inspired by both Brian Eno and Alice Coltrane, Osu balances between classical, ambient, experimental folk and jazz. In doing so, she uses her harp not only as a melodic instrument, but also as a rhythmic and atmospheric instrument. Live, she brings a hypnotic, almost meditative experience with her virtuosity and inventiveness coming into full play and tension lurking around the corner.
