It has been since 2018 that Danish guitarist Jakob Bro and his trio left an unforgettable impression in a packed Academy Hall. But the love was mutual and that is why he returns with great enthusiasm in season 25-26. This time not with his trio, but with Uma Elmo, the magnificent project based on the eponymous, acclaimed album that he made for the legendary ECM label of Manfred Eicher. Together with Norwegian trumpeter Arve Henriksen and Spanish drummer Jorge Rossy, he shows his typical expansive, layered guitar playing, sometimes supporting, sometimes more in the foreground.
Expect Scandinavian, atmospheric jazz with here and there also unmistakably American influences, performed by three musicians of international top level.
And that in one of the most beautiful and best sounding concert halls in the country.
