Trio Perdu has been touring Flanders and Europe for more than 25 years with music from before the Great War. The European has far from let go of the interwar period, let alone processed it. The scars are still visible in many of our cities. Politicians and the media still refer to them almost daily! At the same time, the influence of the interbellum on an artistic level is unmistakable.
Trio Perdu plays with those over-familiar sounds and takes you on a musical journey through the origins of Jazz, Klezmer, Gypsy Swing and the stand-up musician! An evening full of humor, improvisation, playfulness and virtuosity. Everything seems simple and obvious, nothing could be further from the truth.
Trio Perdu has had several formations over the years, Kevin Van Staeyen (violin, vocals) still leads the band. Ruben Appermont (double bass, piano) makes the trio back perdu because they are only two this itteration.
