Renato Baccarat feat. Lucas Santtana

“Renato Baccarat is a protean artist, a musician by blood and an illustrator by training. Born in Saõ Paulo (Brazil), and living in Brussels since the age of ten, he has built his life on the culture of here and there. Today, he composes music and images and unfolds a universe with a very broad artistic spectrum. His music is somewhere between that of Caetano Veloso and the Pixies, infused with the great cities where he has lived (São Paulo, Barcelona, Paris and Brussels), an urban and global perception.

In 2021, he launched the comic strip “Entre Chien et Loup”. This story will give birth three years later to one of the seven new tracks on the album he is about to launch: “Falam Baixo” (They speak softly). It's an album of introspection, recounting several moments of suspension. Stories of characters who stop to observe their surroundings.

This album is also the fruit of a meeting with Lucas Santtana, a Brazilian producer recently settled in France. He has collaborated with Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and Marisa Monte. His eighth album, “O Paraiso” (2023), is full of the musical aesthetic research and narrative sensibility with which Renato loves to work. It's a critically acclaimed success. Lucas Santtana is Falam Baixo's producer.
