Arthur Possing Quartet + Joel Rabesolo

Arthur Possing grew up in a family where music played an important role. After studying classical percussion then classical piano, he went on to study jazz piano with Eric Legnini at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.

Considered one of the promising pianists of his generation, Arthur has released three albums in his own name: two with his quartet (the most recent being ‘Natural Flow’, awarded ‘Révélation’ in Jazz Magazine France), and a first solo piano album ‘ID:entity’ in 2023. The quartet's repertoire includes compositions by the group's musicians and tunes by jazzmen they like: modern jazz with influences from all genres, without forgetting tradition.

The quartet has been lucky enough to tour all over the world (Mexico, Ukraine, BeNeLux, France, Germany, Romania, etc.). Last week, they recorded their 3rd album, featuring Malagasy guitarist Joel Rabesolo (who is currently a very popular figure in a number of groups). This new album, whose main influence will be ‘world music’, is due for release in 2025, so the concert at the Château du Pont d'Oye will be a preview of this third record.

Pianist Arthur Possing will be accompanied by Pierre Cocq-Amann on saxophones and flutes (regulars will remember his magnificent concert with « Back to C » in May 2023), Sebastian ‘Schlapbe’ Flach on double bass, Niels Engel on drums and Joel Rabesolo on acoustic and electric guitars.
