Antoine Karacostas quartet

Antoine Karacostas is a pianist of Franco-Greek origin. He released two trio albums, “Trails” in 2017 and “Insulary Tales” in 2019, in which he presented a repertoire of arrangements of traditional Greek songs and rebetiko (a form of popular cultural expression from Greece associated with song and dance), as well as personal compositions. A singular blend with heady lyricism that defined the sound of the group, founded in 2014. With “Frames”, Antoine Karacostas gives us a third album of rebetiko compositions and arrangements, the group's signature sound. In this opus, he was inspired by painting and pictorial as well as musical impressionism. This album is also a reflection on the notion of framework, both the one in which we find ourselves and the one we wish to go beyond, in our personal quest for freedom.
